December Call Process Update

by Joe Angell on November 30, 2021

Thank you to everyone who took the time to take the congregational survey. The Congregational survey has been finished. This survey, along with all of the other information that the Board of Elders gathered for Synod will be used to select candidates for ILC and the call committee to review.

Thank you to everyone that took the survey.  We welcome and value your comments.

The Board of Elders has some exciting news regarding the call process.

The Board of Elders has met and formed the call committee from the list of interested members of the congregation. Our first meeting is scheduled for December. The call committee will be working alongside Pastor Doroh throughout this process.

As was mentioned at the informational meeting, Synod will not make much progress in developing a list of candidates through the season of Advent.  This is a careful, thoughtful, prayerful process and will take some time.  With Rev Maier retiring, it may take a bit longer than originally planned.  At this point, our task as a congregation is to wait for God's timing and pray, not only for the man He has chosen and his family but for patience as a congregation and discernment for the Call Committee.

Through this call process, the Board of Elders asks the congregation of Immanuel Lutheran Church to please commit to:

  • Remember to pray unceasingly for all who are involved in the call process.
  • Pray for Pastor Dave and Jan through this process.
  • Pray continually for the Lord’s guidance and direction.
  • Pray for God to direct us as we wait.
  • Pray for patience. The search process can go longer than expected. It is hard work for those doing the search process. Pray for trust in the leadership.
  • Pray for God to prepare the way and the heart of your future pastor and his family.

Thank you!

Peace and Blessings to you and yours through this Holy Season of Advent

The Board of Elders.
