A Remedy for Self-Esteem
It seemed like a few years back, society was really concerned about a child's self-esteem. I believe we need to be concerned about all people's self-esteem at any age.
But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand
So much of what we do as human beings, so many of our mistakes and demands happen because of low self-esteem. It generally starts when we are younger and develops many of the habits into our older years. Many of us wear masks and strive for unworthy goals, get into bad relationships, compromise our integrity, or just blend in with the crowd because of our wounds of unworthiness and low self-esteem.
If you have any of these feelings or thoughts, I hope to impress on you, one of the most important truths you can have is that you were created by God! I'm sure you've heard that before. But it's important to digest this truth. Before you were born, your Father in heaven knew you. You are designed with a unique combination of abilities, interests, and passions that have never been seen before and will never be seen in anyone again.
When I am down, sometimes I need to stop and reflect on those thoughts about how I was created by our God of the universe.
For we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).
God knows every detail of your life, and carefully planned the way you were made. Now our remedy is to follow His plan. Let our Father daily guide us.
Let these thoughts sink into your heart and mind so that it becomes really a part of who you are. Your heart and mind will be filled with a real sense of self-worth.
I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well
